Dawa started his career from grade XVII and put his effort to reach the pinnacle of grade IX (S1A) in 2014. He demonstrated an excellent work ethic, a virtue that would serve him well as a forester. Despite immense pressures of having to provide for his family, Dawa nonetheless dedicated completely to his new career from the Range Office in Haa. In the interest of public service, he had served various places in Thimphu, Lobesa, Phobjikha, Paro, Panbang, Trongsa and finally to the Forest Range Office, Lobesa.
On being asked if he has anything to advise our young foresters, Mr. Dawa with stammering voice said, “World is changing and so is Bhutan. Things may be same everywhere, but I personally feel our young officers nowadays don’t fail to respect their seniors and look down on them thinking that they are less qualified. I feel sorry for them.”
Dawa’s real interest springs from the fact that he could contribute more in fulfilling the mandates of the Department and the country as a whole. He also brought about major improvement in the field of service delivery and drastically curved down the illegal activities beyond the expectation of this Division.
Mr. Rinchen Dendup, the Range Officer of Lobesa said, “Over the years, I had the pleasure of working with many different kinds of people, who were loyal, hard-working, dedicated, and outstanding employees; Mr. Dawa is one of the most diligent human beings.”
After his superannuation, Dawa plans to perform prayers with his wife and cultivate the altruistic intention to benefit others. “It is not enough to tell ourselves that we should be nice, because telling ourselves what we should or should not be, feel, or do doesn’t make us become that way,” said Mr. Dawa.
“But I am extremely happy that I finally feel the touch having worked in the field of conservation and able to exit from the same door where I had entered in 1977.”
The Chief and all his dear colleagues of Wangdue Forest Division offer our heartiest congratulations and the best wishes as he enters a new phase of his life. We wish him a happy retirement. We are grateful and salute you for your dedication and hard work.
